Sustainability Project Fall-2022
Overview:
This project is focused on identifying sustainable design problems, exploring sustainable design issues, principles and processes, then designing a product that is enticing, sustainable, useful and manufacturable. The project will begin with a one-week team-oriented kickoff exercise intended as an introduction to sustainable design problems and opportunities. This activity will be followed by the primary exercise, which requires an in-depth personal exploration of the subject.
Final Direction Functional Requirements:
The product must be mass produced (not a hand made good).
• The designs must be aesthetically, ergonomically and functionally appropriate for the
intended users/price points.
• The designs must employ sustainable principles.
• The designs must be manufacturable using current widely available materials and
processes, or with emerging processes that include supporting research.
